Places We Go

STUDENT LEADERSHIP RETREAT:

Each August the entire student leadership team including all student government representatives and class officers begin the school year with a trip. Students bond as a team and begin to plan for much of the upcoming school year.

UPPER SCHOOL RETREAT:

This overnight retreat can be local or several hours away. In addition to the typical bonding and spiritual emphasis aspects of a retreat, students will spend time serving each other and their community.

WINTERIM:

See the Winterim webpage for the details of this exciting multifaceted opportunity.

SPRING FIELD DAY:

At the end of each school year the entire Upper School spends a day playing field games and celebrating the end of another year.

VARIOUS OTHER TRIPS:

Small student groups take periodic field trips and overnight trips throughout the school year.

Senior Trip to Washington, D.C.

Fine Arts trip to Orlando.

COMMUNITY SERVICE:

ACA upper school students actively engage in serving our local community with our small groups and various honor societies (NHS, Tri-M, Mu Alpha Theta). Our desire is to be outward facing as we demonstrate the love of Christ to others.

People We Serve

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY:

Our local NHS chapter has adopted a road near campus and conducts monthly road clean-up in addition to other periodic service projects.

ANNUAL BLOOD DRIVES:

Student Government and NHS partner with the Red Cross twice a year to hold a blood drive on campus.

MIDDLE SCHOOL BANQUET:

Each spring the sophomore class serves the middle school students by planning and serving at the Middle School Banquet.

JUNIOR/SENIOR BANQUET:

Each spring the junior class honors the outgoing seniors by planning and sponsoring this end-of-year banquet.

HABITAT STUDENT BUILD:

During 2012 and 2013 ACA high school students have partnered with Christ School to build a habitat home in the Swannanoa community.  Both schools committed to raise $18,300 and to provide volunteer labor for the home site.

VARIOUS OTHER PROJECTS:

Most Bible classes and several other student groups (including each athletic team) sponsor small service projects throughout the school year.
